Malcolm Journeaux - About

My photographic hobby began in May 2008 when a journalist friend asked me to take her photo (that first portrait can be seen in the local people portrait gallery).

I borrowed a first generation digital camera and for my first ever attempt I was pleased with the resulting photo (as was my friend), hence I bought my own camera shortly afterwards and set about learning the art of photography.

I photographed family, friends and local people and also collaborated with models, make up artists and hairdressers to hone my portrait skills in a studio and on location.

I also photographed at music gigs, sporting events (amateur and professional), and documented photographically locally.

I took the occasional photos of fauna, and subsequently of flora, before taking them more frequently.

My photographs have been featured on ITV and published in newspapers and magazines, on websites, used as music covers, and have won awards (see the awards page).

I also spent many hours over many years learning how to edit photos to bring out the very best in them, to edit creatively and to retouch to the exacting standards required by glossy magazines. Examples of my editing skills can be seen in the editing galleries.

I also write songs and play guitar and once you have viewed the photo galleries if you would like to listen to songs I have written then please visit:
