Rochdale Canal

The Rochdale Canal, which runs for 33 miles between Sowerby Bridge and Manchester, via my home town of Rochdale, opened fully in 1804.

Having closed in 1992, the canal re-opened to navigation along its entire length in July 2002 after an ambitious volunteer restoration project.

The photos in this gallery, which I started taking in April 2021, photographically documents the canal from its entry into the Borough of Rochdale in Littleborough.
